Overview

A.M. Cohron & Son, Inc. is seeking a Carpenter for bridge construction projects in various states including Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas. The role involves building, installing, and repairing wooden structures while ensuring safety and teamwork on-site.

Key responsibilities

  • Build, install, and repair wooden structures and forms for bridge construction
  • Travel to various job sites as required
  • Communicate effectively and follow company instructions and handbooks
  • Perform carpentry work for pier footings, columns, caps, and decking
  • Read and understand construction plans and specifications
  • Select and layout materials for construction
  • Cut and shape forms to specification using appropriate tools
  • Assemble forms securely and verify accuracy with measuring tools
  • Identify and communicate safety concerns to management
  • Work safely in various weather conditions

Required skills

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • Two years' experience in bridge carpentry
  • Experience using mechanical and electrical tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Normal range of vision and hearing (with correction)
  • Ability to work at heights and in adverse weather conditions
