Job Title: Career Navigator Department:Goodwill Career Academy Reports To: Career Academy Manager Job Function: Career Navigation Services Job Code: Job Summary:The Career Navigator is responsible for working with Goodwill Career Academy graduates, providing career assessment, career pathing, leading job-search activities, resume development, and application assistance. Provides tailored job leads aligned with individual career goals and certifications to Career Academy graduates. Tracks and records graduate outcome data, including placements, benefits, and documentation related to State barrier-removing funding and services . The Career Navigator also builds and maintains a network of corporate talent acquisition contacts to directly refer clients for related job openings. Refers clients to internal/external supports. Assists in fulfilling annual goals as outlined in departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Bilingual skills preferred. FULL-TIME POSITION ELIGIBLE FOR BENEFITS. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Conduct one-on-one career counseling sessions with program clients to assess their career aspirations, interests, and skills. Provide personalized client guidance and support in creating individualized career development plans. Assist in resume building, interview preparation, and job search strategies to ensure participants are well-equipped for the job market.Administer career assessments and aptitude tests to help individuals identify their strengths, interests, and career compatibility.From time to time, provides training sessions and workshops to Career Academy students/graduates, focusing on career development activities and strategies. Provide holistic client support by making referrals based on client needs to community and state resources. Engaging with individuals post-employment to build a robust network of contacts, facilitating opportunities for new job seekers to connect with current employees.Collect data related to job placements and career outcomes, employment trends, and wage rates.Keeping abreast of current job market trends and industry demands to tailor career services accordingly.Support Career Academy Manager by providing logistical support and participating in job fairs, hiring and networking events, and employer panels to connect job seekers with employers.Utilizes case-management software for all clients. Ensure a comprehensive understanding of all services provided by Goodwill.Assists in maintaining the Career Center's public spaces, including cleaning duties. Participate in inter- and intra-departmental meetings as scheduled. Other Job Functions: Reviews and is familiar with Company safety policies, programs, and procedures. Adheres to all safety rules, regulations, and safety codes, and attends safety training sessions and safety meetings. This position requires excellent communication skills, a high degree of flexibility, and a genuine desire to assist clients and employers with inquiries. An ability to read and interpret documents is required. The ability to write reports is required. Other duties as assigned.Educational Requirements: An undergraduate degree or specialized training in business, education, vocational education, rehabilitation services, psychology, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in job development or job placement is a plus. Bilingual abilities are a plus (but not required). Demonstrated aptitude with Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite.Other Requirements:Must be at least 21 years old.Must have a valid driver's license, with a good driving record.Must maintain appropriate requirements for legal vehicle operation, including current automobile insurance inspection and license plate.Must be eligible for a positive outcome on the required criminal conviction background check.Must maintain compliance with Goodwill's Drug and Alcohol Abuse Policy.Goodwill considers this a safety-sensitive position b
