Overview

The Cardiology Physician Assistant position in Asheville, North Carolina is a 6-month locums opportunity focused on delivering advanced cardiology care in a collaborative hospital setting. The role includes working day shifts with support from various specialty teams and involves hands-on procedures in a beautiful location renowned for outdoor and cultural activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Round daily on cardiology service patients across all levels of care
  • Write progress notes, event notes, admission H&Ps, consult notes, and discharge summaries
  • Order medications, diagnostic testing, and procedures as indicated
  • Perform ICU procedures as needed, including arterial line placement and central line placement
  • Conduct new consults in collaboration with attending cardiologists

Required skills

  • Experienced cardiology PA or NP
  • Active North Carolina license and DEA
  • Proficient in cardiology patient management and ICU procedures
  • EMR systems knowledge, specifically Cerner
