Overview

The Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Campus Safety Officer for Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This role involves providing security and protection for students, staff, visitors, and property on campus, requiring South Dakota law enforcement certification.

Key responsibilities

  • Protect Southeast Technical College students, staff, and visitors
  • Protect all Southeast Technical College property
  • Serve as a liaison between the college and emergency services
  • Make recommendations to minimize risk and control crime
  • Provide assistance in law and safety matters
  • Write and maintain security reports
  • Update security officer's operations manual
  • Compile yearly campus crime statistics

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of relevant work experience
  • Current South Dakota law enforcement certification
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to apply law enforcement policies and procedures
