Job Description

Overview

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Calibration and Metrology Quality Engineer to join their Advanced Manufacturing Facility team in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, you will lead calibration and metrology operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and overseeing quality assurance initiatives that support critical production processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate external calibration service providers and ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 17025 standards.
  • Evaluate and lead investigations for out-of-tolerance conditions in measurement instruments.
  • Lead internal and external audits related to calibration and quality systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and QA teams to resolve calibration issues.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship on measurement best practices.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy of production tools.
  • Lead metrology development projects, including new instrumentation and measurement methods.
  • Support Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) studies for problem-solving initiatives.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in calibration, metrology, or measurement systems.
  • 4+ years of experience in related fields or 2+ years with a graduate degree.
  • Experience in quality management systems, such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
  • Strong knowledge of calibration traceability and measurement uncertainty.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools for developing quality metrics.
  • Hands-on experience with dimensional measurement equipment.
  • Project management experience, with certifications such as PMP or Six Sigma.
