Overview

As a Cabinet Maker III at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah, you will play a critical role in fabricating complex cabinets and wood-surfaced subassemblies for aircraft. The position requires a blend of craftsmanship, project oversight, and mentorship for lesser skilled technicians, all while adhering to stringent safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Fabricate complex high quality furniture and wood-surfaced subassemblies using various woodworking tools and techniques.
  • Interpret material specifications and design/engineering drawings to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Oversee projects and guide team members, accepting lead responsibilities when required.
  • Assist in maintaining shop equipment and coordinating safety audits.
  • Implement process improvements using Lean Six Sigma techniques.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years experience in cabinetmaking
  • Knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
  • Ability to utilize woodworking tools and techniques
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Computer literate
