Job Description

Overview

The Buyer at Arcadia Farms LLC is responsible for forecasting, planning, and purchasing a wide range of ingredients and materials to support the company's manufacturing operations. This role involves collaboration with multiple departments to ensure that supply and inventory targets are met while maintaining cost effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage raw materials, packaging, and indirect spend categories across multiple suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain forecasting models for purchasing and inventory planning.
  • Analyze usage trends and production schedules to identify supply risks.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and service commitments with suppliers.
  • Create purchase orders and monitor delivery timings and shortages.
  • Lead supplier performance reviews and address issues related to service and quality.
  • Maintain accurate data in purchasing systems regarding items and pricing.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to align purchasing with operational needs.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, or related field (preferred)
  • 2 to 5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in manufacturing
  • Experience managing multiple purchasing categories
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and inventory management fundamentals
  • Strong Excel skills for data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills with stakeholders and suppliers
