Position: Business Systems Analyst (Ref: 18506)Location: Richmond, VA 23219 USADuration: 1 Years 2 Months 19 Days - ContractOpenings: 1Deadline: 07/20/2026Pay Rate: DOEDescription: Local Candidates Only HybridWe are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst who will serve as a primary data steward, connecting data to business analysis by overseeing all aspects of the data management life cycle.The ideal candidate will play a key role in evaluating current enterprise content management (ECM) processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing technology-driven strategies to support enterprise-wide document governance and business performance.Core Responsibilities Process Evaluation: Partner with stakeholders to evaluate current enterprise content management practices; conduct interviews and analyze workflows to identify best practices, gaps, inefficiencies, policy requirements, and risks. Requirements & Governance: Elicit, analyze, and document future-state business and technical requirements. Recommend standardized approaches for document intake, storage, retrieval, approval, versioning, classification, and retention. Framework Design: Design and implement standardized workflows and governance frameworks for content organization, accessibility, metadata structures, taxonomy, templates, and security frameworks. Data & Documentation: Develop a comprehensive understanding of core systems, document repositories, and data architecture (including data flows and system integrations). Create and maintain detailed documentation supporting file strategies and operational procedures. Testing & Training: Develop and execute testing strategies to validate system changes and process improvements. Support internal teams by developing job aids and conducting training on new technology and processes. Strategic Support: Contribute to data analysis, reporting, and document-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive process improvements.Required Qualifications Education: Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university. Experience: 7+ years of experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, document/data lifecycle management, and process improvement. Industry Experience: 3+ years of experience supporting ECM strategies and enterprise data practices within a government, investment, or financial services environment. Documentation Skills: Proven experience creating clear, structured technical documentation (e.g., requirements, process maps, data/document flows). Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear business terms. Soft Skills: Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work independently, proactively identify areas needing attention, and collaborate in a cross-functional environment.Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with process automation tools used to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort. Experience working with reporting tools and dashboards to support business insights and decision-making.
