Overview

The Business Development Manager for the Litigation and Investigations practice group at Capitol Recruiters Inc. will work collaboratively with senior lawyers to implement business development initiatives and marketing strategies. This hybrid role permits working from various locations including Washington, DC, New York, and more. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in litigation business development and marketing.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop marketing and business development budgets for assigned groups
  • Implement business development initiatives and programs with senior lawyers
  • Prepare targeted client pitch materials and conduct prep sessions with attorneys
  • Analyze market opportunities with the Marketing Research team
  • Coordinate pitches and other efforts with the BD team
  • Identify sponsorship and speaking opportunities
  • Recommend thought-leadership and CLE programs for clients and prospects
  • Provide support for practice events
  • Draft submissions for directory listings and awards
  • Develop practice-specific and geographic-focused marketing materials
  • Maintain website content and external communication pieces
  • Assist in supervising litigation BD specialists

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least three years of experience in law firm or professional services marketing and business development
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and initiative
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Salesforce experience is a plus
  • Prior law firm BD experience with litigation and/or transactions teams is desirable

  • Salary range of $159k to $208k dependent on experience and location
