Job Description

Overview

The Business Development Manager at Sysco's Gilchrist & Soames division is responsible for generating revenue through new account acquisition while also managing relationships with existing customers. The role involves strategic planning, collaboration with internal teams, and substantial travel within the U.S. to meet customer needs and attend trade shows.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and target new business opportunities to exceed sales goals.
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to grow sales of personal care amenities.
  • Collaborate with Product Development and Marketing to create new brands and product innovations.
  • Prepare and present product presentations and demonstrations.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms while managing the onboarding of new customers.
  • Utilize a CRM system to document sales activities and track pipeline development.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Sales, or Marketing.
  • Minimum of five years of sales experience with focus on New Business Development.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, negotiation, and active listening skills.
  • Ability to ask meaningful questions to identify and solve customer needs.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce CRM.
