Job Description

Overview

The Business Development Manager for Gilchrist & Soames, a division of Sysco, will focus on generating revenue through the acquisition of new accounts and expanding business within existing customers. This role requires strategic prospecting, relationship building, and effective communication, with responsibilities that include developing sales strategies and collaborating with product development and marketing teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide customer relations and personnel management for major programs and projects
  • Identify and target new business opportunities to meet or exceed sales goals
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan for personal care amenities
  • Collaborate with Product Development and Marketing on new brands and innovations
  • Prepare and present product presentations and demonstrations
  • Negotiate pricing and terms, managing onboarding of new customers
  • Utilize a CRM system to document sales activities and track pipeline development
  • Participate in trade shows and corporate account meetings

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Sales, or Marketing
  • Five+ years of sales experience focused on New Business Development
  • Professional telephone presence and face-to-face demeanor
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to ask meaningful questions to identify customer needs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce CRM
  • Strong internal relationship management skills
