Job Description

Overview

New Eagle is seeking a Building Maintenance & Safety Specialist I to manage the maintenance and safety of company facilities in Ann Arbor. The role involves direct engagement with safety compliance, vendor management, and maintenance requests, ensuring a safe and well-maintained working environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for daily facilities-related requests
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency issues
  • Conduct regular facility and safety inspections
  • Evaluate work environments and practices for potential hazards
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety laws and regulations
  • Develop and deliver training programs on safety procedures
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and service providers
  • Solicit bids and negotiate pricing for vendor services
  • Review and verify vendor invoices for accuracy
  • Manage building security systems and administer security programs
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities and service requests
  • Assist with vehicle maintenance as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-7 years experience in facilities or commercial building maintenance and safety
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and security systems
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and workplace safety programs
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and administrative software tools
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015 & IATF 16949 preferred
  • Certification in OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, or other safety-related training preferred
