Overview

4LEAF, Inc. is seeking qualified and experienced Building Inspectors II or III in Sacramento, CA to perform technical building inspections and ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and ordinances. Ideal candidates should have a strong background in the industry and relevant certifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of new buildings, additions, and alterations for compliance with building codes.
  • Articulate complex building issues to various stakeholders, emphasizing life/safety regulations.
  • Identify and resolve complex problems by advising developers and contractors on code requirements.
  • Field questions regarding building requirements and make independent analyses during inspections.
  • Write correction notices and inspection reports.
  • Analyze and accurately check building plans and specifications.
  • Enforce building codes impartially and with good judgment.

Required skills

  • ICC Certification(s) related to building construction and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and ordinances.
  • Understanding of safety standards and construction testing procedures.
  • Basic understanding of plan checking processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, and climb tall ladders.
  • Valid CA State driver's license.
