Job Description

Overview

4LEAF, Inc. is seeking qualified Building Inspectors II or III in Washington to perform technical building inspections while enforcing compliance with building codes and regulations. The role requires strong experience and problem-solving skills to ensure safety and adherence to safety standards in construction projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Inspect new buildings, additions, and alterations for compliance with building codes
  • Articulate building issues to public, contractors, designers, and owners
  • Identify and solve complex problems regarding code requirements
  • Field questions about building requirements
  • Make independent analyses during inspections
  • Advise Planning, Engineering, and Code Enforcement personnel
  • Write clear correction notices and inspection reports
  • Analyze and interpret building plans and codes
  • Enforce codes with good judgment and impartiality
  • Perform duties within OSHA standards

Required skills

  • ICC Certification(s) related to building construction codes
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local construction laws
  • Understanding of safety standards and construction methods
  • Skills in building inspection and plan checking
  • Computer knowledge and skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, and climb ladders
  • Valid WA State driver's license
