Job Description

Overview

As a Building Engineer at JLL, you will be essential in maintaining and operating building systems to ensure peak performance of facilities. Your role will involve troubleshooting and repairing various systems, conducting preventative maintenance, and managing contracted maintenance to meet industry standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and repair Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and associated equipment.
  • Record equipment readings and make adjustments for proper operation.
  • Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
  • Maintain responsibility for facility services, purchasing, and inventory control.
  • Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems and plumbing fixtures.
  • Comply with safety policies for hazardous materials and maintain a clean workplace.

Required skills

  • 4+ years of experience in maintaining industrial or commercial building systems.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS (e.g. Corrigo).
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • EPA 608 Type II Certification or higher preferred.
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and trade certifications in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing.
