Overview

The Brake Press Operator at Metalcraft of Mayville, located in West Bend, Wisconsin, is responsible for the setup and operation of hydraulic CNC controlled press brakes in a just-in-time fabrication shop. This role involves ensuring quality standards and time efficiency while collaborating with other operators as needed across various shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and operate hydraulic press or punch press for established work
  • Select and set up correct tooling for job tasks with supervisor assistance
  • Safely handle materials and completed work using a forklift
  • Perform work to meet time standards and quality expectations
  • Document material and production issues
  • Participate in equipment preventative maintenance
  • Assist other operators on key work as required

Required skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong metal press forming and basic fabrication background
  • Competency in basic dimensional measuring and precision measurement tools
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings
  • Basic knowledge of shop math
  • Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes
