Overview

The Botanist at Innovative Labs is responsible for identifying dietary supplement ingredients using various analytical techniques in a collaborative laboratory environment. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and contributing to the team's success in producing high-quality liquid dietary supplements.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify dietary supplement ingredients using microscopy, thin-layer chromatography (TLC), and other testing methods.
  • Characterize unique structures and detect potential contaminants by comparing samples against reference materials.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate laboratory documentation.
  • Assist laboratory team members with day-to-day testing and analytical activities.
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain proper handling of test samples and reference materials.
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.
  • Stay current with advances in analytical methods and regulatory requirements.

Required skills

  • Strong knowledge of ingredient identification methods, including microscopy and TLC.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as organoleptic testing and sample preparation.
  • Basic data entry and analysis skills; familiarity with Excel or similar tools.
  • Strong technical writing skills for producing clear scientific reports.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for dietary supplement testing.
  • 0-2 years of analytical laboratory experience.
  • B.S. in Botany, Plant Biology, Biology, Ecology, or a closely related field.
