Overview

As an Experienced Border Patrol Agent (BPA), you will join U.S. Customs and Border Protection in safeguarding the nation's borders and ensuring the safety of communities. This role is ideal for candidates with prior law enforcement experience, allowing for potential advancement in grades and substantial incentives for newly appointed agents.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Conduct surveillance and apprehend aliens and smugglers near the borders.
  • Perform physical searches of detained individuals and vehicles for contraband.
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets.
  • Interpret evidence of illegal entry and conduct city and transportation checks.

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement or military law enforcement.
  • Proficient in firearms and preparing investigative reports.
  • Ability to make arrests and exercise sound judgment.
  • Knowledge in tracking illegal operations and evaluating criminal activities.
