Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hiring experienced Border Patrol Agents (BPA) for full-time positions. These roles offer the opportunity to work with a dedicated team to protect the nation's borders and ensure public safety. Candidates with prior law enforcement or military experience may qualify for higher-grade opportunities and be eligible for significant recruitment and retention incentives.

Key responsibilities

  • Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
  • Preventing and apprehending aliens and smugglers at or near the borders.
  • Maintaining surveillance for illegal entries using various government assets.
  • Performing physical searches and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways.

Required skills

  • Law enforcement experience (military or civilian)
  • Skills in firearms use and investigative reporting
  • Experience in surveilling and apprehending violators
  • Knowledge of immigration and customs laws
  • Ability to work with various government assets such as vehicles and ATVs
