Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking experienced Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) in Nashville, Tennessee. This role is designed for individuals with prior law enforcement experience who are looking to contribute to the safety of the community and nation by securing borders and deterring illegal activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration laws.
  • Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers at or near borders.
  • Maintain surveillance from covert positions during operations.
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various assets.

Required skills

  • Prior law enforcement or military law enforcement experience.
  • Proficient in the use of firearms and preparing investigative reports.
  • Ability to apprehend and physically restrain violators.
  • Experience in utilizing intelligence information related to criminal activity.
  • Strong decision-making and analysis skills in law enforcement contexts.
