Overview

The Border Patrol Agent (BPA) position is a full-time career opportunity within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, aimed at experienced law enforcement personnel. Agents work to secure U.S. borders, deter illegal activities, and contribute to national safety, with positions potentially requiring relocation to various operational locations.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers at or near the borders.
  • Maintain surveillance and perform patrols using various government assets.
  • Interpret physical evidence related to illegal entries.
