The Border Patrol Agent (BPA) position is crucial for safeguarding the nation's borders and involves detecting and preventing illegal activities, specifically related to immigration and customs laws. This role requires prior law enforcement experience, allowing qualified applicants to pursue higher-graded opportunities with the U.S. Border Patrol in various critical locations across the country.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs law violations.
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers at or near the borders.
  • Perform physical searches and inspections for contraband and evidence.
  • Maintain surveillance using advanced technology, including infrared scopes.
  • Conduct farm, building, traffic, and city patrol checks.
  • Utilize various government assets for patrolling international boundaries.
