Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking experienced Border Patrol Agents (BPA) for full-time positions. Candidates with prior law enforcement experience may qualify for higher-graded BPA opportunities, enabling them to contribute to securing the nation's borders and protecting the country.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend illegal aliens and smugglers at or near the borders.
  • Maintain surveillance from covert positions, including night operations.
  • Perform searches, inspections, and patrolling of the international boundary.
  • Use various government assets, such as vehicles and ATVs, for patrol.

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement or military police units.
  • Proficiency in firearms and investigative reporting.
  • Ability to analyze information and make prompt decisions.
  • Knowledge of immigration and customs laws.
  • Capability to lead investigations and utilize surveillance technology.
