Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking experienced Border Patrol Agents (GL-9 GS-11) to protect the community and secure the nation's borders. This full-time role provides opportunities for individuals with prior law enforcement experience to make a significant impact as part of a dedicated team while enjoying competitive benefits and the potential for relocation based on operational needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers near the borders using surveillance techniques.
  • Perform physical searches of detained individuals and vehicles.
  • Conduct farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, and city patrols.
  • Patrol international boundaries and waterways using various government assets.

Required skills
