Overview

The Border Patrol Agent (BPA) - Experienced position with Customs and Border Protection involves securing the U.S. borders and protecting the nation. Candidates with prior law enforcement experience may qualify for higher-graded opportunities within this full-time career position, which includes various operational duties critical to law enforcement.

Key responsibilities

  • Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Preventing and apprehending illegal aliens and smugglers at or near borders.
  • Maintaining surveillance and conducting patrols using various government assets.
  • Performing physical searches for weapons, contraband, and evidence.
  • Preparing investigative reports and serving court orders.
