Overview

The Border Patrol Agent (BPA) - Experienced role offers individuals the chance to join U.S. Customs and Border Protection as part of a dedicated law enforcement team focused on securing national borders. Candidates with prior law enforcement experience may qualify for higher-graded positions and are invited to contribute to the safety of their communities.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs violations.
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers near borders.
  • Conduct physical and document inspections to determine citizenship or violations.
  • Patrol international boundaries using various government assets.
  • Perform surveillance and inspections from covert positions.
  • Lead investigations into fraud and criminal activity.
