Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hiring experienced Border Patrol Agents (BPA) in Miami, Florida, to enhance border security and protect the nation. Applicants with prior law enforcement experience may qualify for higher-grade positions, with the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team committed to safeguarding communities and enforcing immigration laws.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers at or near the borders using surveillance techniques.
  • Interpret physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
  • Perform various checks including farm, building, and vehicle inspections.
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using government assets.

Required skills

  • Prior law enforcement experience or military police background
  • Proficient in firearms and law enforcement protocols
  • Ability to analyze information and make rapid decisions
  • Experience with investigative reporting and evidence gathering
  • Familiarity with conflict resolution and dealing courteously with the public
