Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking experienced Border Patrol Agents in York, Pennsylvania, to protect the community and secure the nation's borders. Candidates with previous law enforcement experience may qualify for higher-grade opportunities and are encouraged to apply immediately for full-time positions with significant incentives.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws
  • Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers at borders
  • Maintain surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes
  • Conduct farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, and city patrols
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets

Required skills

  • Prior law enforcement or military police experience
  • Proficient in the use of firearms
  • Experience in handling investigative reports and evidence gathering
  • Ability to analyze information and make prompt decisions
  • Familiarity with surveillance and detection technologies
