The Border Patrol Agent (BPA) - Experienced position at U.S. Customs and Border Protection offers individuals with prior law enforcement experience an opportunity to secure a role within a leading federal agency responsible for border security. The position includes responsibilities related to safeguarding the nation's borders, preventing illegal activity, and ensuring safety within the community.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers at or near the borders.
  • Maintain surveillance and use specialized equipment during operations.
  • Perform various checks including farm, building, and traffic checks.
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using different government assets.

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement or military law enforcement.
  • Proficiency in the use of firearms and preparation of investigative reports.
  • Ability to analyze information and make rapid decisions.
  • Familiarity with surveillance and detection technology.
