The Border Patrol Agent (BPA) - Experienced position at U.S. Customs and Border Protection requires individuals with prior law enforcement experience to help safeguard the nation's borders. Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs violations.
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers near the borders.
  • Conduct document inspections to determine citizenship or violations.
  • Perform surveillance and checks using government assets like vehicles and ATVs.
  • Interpret physical evidence related to illegal entries.
  • Conduct farm, building, traffic, and city patrols.

Required skills

  • Law enforcement or military law enforcement experience.
  • Proficiency in firearm usage.
  • Ability to perform physical searches and gather evidence.
  • Experience in making arrests and enforcing laws.

  • Up to $60,000 in additional incentives for newly appointed Agents.
  • Recruitment incentives up to $20,000 and retention incentives up to $40,000.
  • Base salary ranging from $65,545 to $124,717 per year.
