Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking experienced Border Patrol Agents (BPA) for full-time, career positions to help secure the nation's borders. Ideal candidates will have prior law enforcement experience and will work alongside trained professionals dedicated to protecting the community and the country.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers at or near the borders
  • Maintain surveillance and use covert observation techniques
  • Perform physical searches and inspections of vehicles and individuals
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement or military police
  • Proficiency in the use of firearms
  • Ability to prepare investigative reports and serve court orders
  • Experience in apprehending violators of immigration laws
  • Knowledge of surveillance and detection technologies
