Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking experienced Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) for full-time positions aimed at protecting the nation’s borders and ensuring community safety. This role requires previous law enforcement experience and offers opportunities for promotion and incentives for newly appointed agents.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers at or near borders.
  • Perform surveillance and maintain physical borders using various government assets.
  • Conduct inspections of documents and possessions to determine citizenship.
  • Engage in physical searches for weapons and contraband.
  • Utilize intelligence to track illegal operations and criminal activity.

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement or military law enforcement.
  • Proficiency in the use of firearms.
  • Ability to analyze information rapidly.
  • Knowledge of immigration and customs laws.
  • Teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Crisis management experience.
