Overview

The Border Patrol Agent (BPA) - Experienced position is a full-time role with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) dedicated to securing the nation's borders and ensuring public safety. Ideal candidates will have prior law enforcement experience, making them eligible for higher-grade opportunities and various incentives as part of a career ladder progression.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs violations
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers at or near borders
  • Maintain surveillance and use various equipment during patrol operations
  • Conduct physical searches of individuals and vehicles for contraband
  • Prepare investigative reports and gather evidence for criminal cases
  • Perform checks on farms, buildings, and during traffic patrols
