Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking experienced Border Patrol Agents (GL-9/GS-11) to help secure the nation's borders and protect its citizens. These full-time positions are open to individuals with prior law enforcement experience, offering the chance to continue making a difference in a critical public safety role.

Key responsibilities

  • Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Preventing and apprehending aliens and smugglers at or near the borders.
  • Maintaining surveillance and using various government assets for patrolling.
  • Performing physical searches and gathering evidence for criminal cases.
  • Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways.

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement or military law enforcement
  • Proficient in the use of firearms
  • Ability to analyze information quickly and make decisions
  • Experience in investigative processes and gathering evidence
  • Ability to conduct physical searches and maintain surveillance
