Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking experienced Border Patrol Agents to help secure the nation's borders and protect the community. Candidates with prior law enforcement experience may qualify for higher-grade positions and are invited to be part of a dedicated federal agency committed to the safety and integrity of the nation.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers by maintaining surveillance.
  • Conduct physical searches and inspect documents to determine citizenship.
  • Patrol the international boundary and coastal waterways using various government assets.
  • Prepare investigative reports and serve court orders.

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement or military police units.
  • Proficient in the use of firearms.
  • Ability to analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with surveillance and detection technology.
