Overview

The Border Patrol Agent (BPA) - Experienced role offers a unique opportunity to protect the community and secure the nation's borders. This position is intended for individuals with prior law enforcement experience, allowing for potential advancement in grade level at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Agents will work alongside highly trained professionals, focusing on deterring illicit activities and enhancing national security.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers at or near the borders.
  • Maintain surveillance and interpret physical evidence of illegal entry.
  • Perform patrols using various government assets including vehicles and aircraft.
  • Conduct physical searches and prepare investigative reports.

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement or military police units
  • Proficient in the use of firearms
  • Ability to analyze information and make decisions rapidly
  • Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus
  • Experience in apprehending individuals or working with law enforcement
