Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hiring experienced Border Patrol Agents (BPA) to protect the nation's borders and enhance public safety. This role requires prior law enforcement experience, with opportunities for higher-graded positions based on qualifications. Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend illegal aliens and smugglers at or near the borders.
  • Maintain surveillance using various techniques, including infrared scopes.
  • Perform physical searches and inspections to identify illegal entries or contraband.
  • Patrol borders and waterways using government vehicles and equipment.

Required skills

  • Prior law enforcement or military experience
  • Proficient in firearms and law enforcement procedures

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred
