Overview

As an Experienced Border Patrol Agent (BPA) with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the nation by working to deter illegal activity and enforcing immigration laws. This position is available for those with prior law enforcement experience and offers a chance to continue serving your community in a fulfilling federal career.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws
  • Apprehend and prevent illegal entry of aliens and smugglers
  • Perform surveillance operations, including nighttime operations using infrared scopes
  • Conduct farm checks, building checks, city patrols, and transportation checks
  • Patrol international borders and coastal waterways using various government assets

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement or military law enforcement
  • Proficient in the use of firearms
  • Ability to prepare investigative reports and gather evidence for court cases
  • Familiarity with surveillance and detection technologies
  • Ability to speak and read Spanish
