Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking experienced Border Patrol Agents (BPA) for full-time positions to help protect the nation's borders. Candidates with prior law enforcement experience may qualify for higher-grade opportunities and can expect to work with a dedicated team of professionals committed to community safety and national security.

Key responsibilities

  • Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Preventing and apprehending unlawful entry of aliens and smugglers.
  • Maintaining surveillance and using technology for tracking illegal activity.
  • Conducting physical searches of individuals and their belongings.
  • Engaging in patrols and checks of vehicles, buildings, and boundaries.

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement or military police.
  • Proficiency with firearms and investigative report writing.
  • Ability to utilize intelligence information and complex technology for operations.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, with training provided.
