Overview

Border Patrol Agents (BPA) are instrumental in securing the borders of the United States and ensuring public safety. Experienced candidates with prior law enforcement experience may qualify for higher-grade BPA positions. This role is critical in protecting the community and requires dedication to law enforcement and border security.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers by maintaining surveillance.
  • Conduct physical searches of detained individuals and their property.
  • Perform patrolling activities using government assets like vehicles and ATVs.
  • Lead investigations of fraud and contraband while utilizing intelligence information.

Required skills

  • Prior law enforcement experience
  • Proficient in firearm use
  • Ability to analyze information and make prompt decisions
  • Experience in making arrests and handling law enforcement matters
  • Spanish language proficiency (training provided)
