Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking experienced Border Patrol Agents (BPA) to protect U.S. borders and maintain public safety. Candidates with prior law enforcement experience may qualify for higher-grade opportunities. This is a full-time position that offers career progression and significant incentives for new hires.

Key responsibilities

  • Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws
  • Preventing and apprehending aliens and smugglers near the borders
  • Maintaining surveillance from covert positions, including using infrared scopes
  • Performing physical searches and inspections of vehicles and individuals
  • Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using various vehicles and equipment

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement or military law enforcement
  • Proficient in the use of firearms
  • Ability to prepare investigative reports and serve court orders
  • Experience tracking illegal activities and using surveillance technology
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills in law enforcement matters
