Overview

The Border Patrol Agent (BPA) - Experienced position with U.S. Customs and Border Protection offers an opportunity to work in a critical law enforcement role focused on securing the nation's borders. Candidates with prior law enforcement experience may qualify for higher-grade positions and will be part of a dedicated team committed to community safety and national security.

Key responsibilities

  • Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws
  • Preventing and apprehending illegal entrants and smugglers at borders
  • Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets
  • Conducting inspections of documents and possessions to determine citizenship
  • Maintaining surveillance from covert positions
  • Performing farm checks, building checks, and transportation checks

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement or military police units
  • Proficiency in firearms
  • Ability to perform physical searches and apprehend violators
  • Experience in report preparation and gathering evidence
  • Familiarity with intelligence operations and surveillance technology
