Overview

The Customs and Border Protection is seeking experienced Border Patrol Agents (BPA) for full-time career positions in Miami, Florida. Candidates with prior law enforcement experience may qualify for higher-grading opportunities while contributing to the mission of securing the nation's borders.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers near borders.
  • Maintain surveillance using various methods, including infrared scopes.
  • Conduct patrols using government assets such as vehicles, horses, and ATVs.
  • Perform physical searches of detained individuals and their vehicles.
  • Prepare investigative reports and gather evidence for criminal cases.

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement or military law enforcement.
  • Proficient in firearms and law enforcement procedures.
  • Ability to analyze information and make rapid decisions.
  • Skills in community engagement and crisis management.
  • Understanding of immigration and customs laws.
