Overview

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) in Tampa, Florida, for full-time law enforcement positions. Candidates with prior law enforcement experience may qualify for higher-grade opportunities and will join a team dedicated to safeguarding the nation's borders while deterring illicit activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws
  • Prevent and apprehend smuggling operations at borders
  • Conduct surveillance and patrols using various government assets
  • Perform physical searches and inspections for contraband
  • Write investigative reports and serve court orders
  • Lead investigations of illegal operations and criminal activities

Required skills

  • Experience in law enforcement or military law enforcement
  • Proficient in firearms usage
  • Ability to analyze information rapidly and make decisions
