Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents in Morrisville, Vermont. This role is suited for individuals looking for a long-term federal law enforcement career that makes a significant impact on national security and public safety. Agents will undergo rigorous training and are part of a dedicated team focused on protecting U.S. borders and deterring illegal activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration violations
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers
  • Maintain surveillance and utilize various tools for border monitoring
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using government assets
  • Conduct inspections of documents and possessions to determine citizenship
  • Perform various community checks and patrols

Required skills

  • General work experience demonstrating decision-making and composure in stressful situations
  • Ability to analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions
  • Experience in law enforcement or military police preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or combination of experience and education
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English required
