Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents to join their mission of safeguarding the nation's borders and protecting its citizens. This role offers a career in federal law enforcement with immediate hiring for full-time positions, and applicants with backgrounds in public safety or military experience may qualify for these roles.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs violations.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near the borders.
  • Conduct various checks including farm, building, traffic, and city patrols.
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets.

Required skills

  • Experience in public safety, military police, or law enforcement.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under stress.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is required.
