Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents to join their federal law enforcement team dedicated to protecting American borders. Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near the borders.
  • Conduct surveillance and patrol operations using various government assets.
  • Perform inspections and checks including farm, building, traffic, and city patrols.
  • Follow physical evidence of illegal activities and maintain reports.

Required skills

  • General work experience in law enforcement, public safety, military police, or security.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in stressful situations.
  • Strong observation and questioning skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
