Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) is looking to hire entry-level Border Patrol Agents to join their mission of protecting the American people and safeguarding the borders. Candidates with experience in public safety, security, or law enforcement are encouraged to apply, as USBP offers a comprehensive training program and the opportunity for long-term career advancement in federal law enforcement.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs violations
  • Apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near the borders
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets
  • Perform farm and city checks, traffic checks, and other law enforcement duties
  • Follow tracks and physical evidence of illegal entries and contraband
