Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Border Patrol Agent at the entry level. Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers.
  • Maintain surveillance from covert positions during operations.
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets.
  • Perform checks and inspections related to immigration and customs enforcement.

Required skills

  • Experience in public safety, security, military police, or law enforcement.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in stressful situations.
  • Skills in questioning, observation, and examination of documents.
  • Ability to analyze information quickly and make prompt decisions.
  • Spanish language proficiency is required.
