Overview

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking entry-level Border Patrol Agents in Montana City, Montana. This role offers a long-term federal law enforcement career aimed at safeguarding borders and enhancing national security. Candidates will receive extensive training at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy and have opportunities for significant financial incentives, including sign-on and retention bonuses.

Key responsibilities

  • Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders
  • Perform surveillance using various methods, including night operations with infrared scopes
  • Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations
  • Conduct patrols using government vehicles, boats, and ATVs
  • Interpret physical evidence related to illegal entry

Required skills

  • Experience in public safety, security, or law enforcement
  • Ability to make sound decisions in stressful situations
  • Strong observational skills for questioning and evaluating documentation
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Spanish language proficiency (training provided)
